2019 Reading List & Challenges

2019 Reading List & Challenges

I’m so addicted to reading challenges, even though I don’t always complete them. I decided to keep a list of all the challenges I’ve signed up for this year in one post, for easier tracking. The books I plan to read to complete all these challenges can be found on my Goodreads 2019 TBR list. Beat the Backlist I have a huge TBR pile, so this challenge is perfect for me. Any book published in 2018 or earlier (any genre, format, length, etc.) counts towards this challenge, and you can set your own goal for how many you would like […]

Book Blogger Hop & On my Wishlist-January 2019

Book Blogger Hop & On my Wishlist-January 2019

Welcome to my monthly wishlist update, based on the weekly meme that was hosted by Cosy Books. Every month, I’ll share a list of the books I desperately want to get my hands on but haven’t actually bought yet. They can be new, old, or yet to be released. I’m also taking part in the Book Blogger Hop, a weekly hop hosted by Billy B at Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer (originally created by Jennifer at  Crazy-For-Books). You can see the hop schedule here. This week’s question, submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews, is: “Any books you are looking forward to for 2019?” Books […]

Annual Wrap-Up 2018

Annual Wrap-Up 2018

Happy New Year everyone! I’m going into 2019 with a positive attitude after a really fantastic year. 2018 went quickly, but it was kind to me and I made a lot of wonderful memories. We celebrated lots of family events such as my Grandma’s 80th birthday and my Dad and his wife’s wedding. We also went on three fantastic UK holidays (Centerparcs, Hunstanton and Great Yarmouth). My daughter has just turned three and she has grown up so much this year. It’s a delight to see her growing and changing but the time is going way to fast! Last year […]

#IWSG Jan 2019: Writing Goals, Questions and Exciting News

It’s time for another Insecure Writer’s Support Group post to boost my confidence and encourage myself to engage with the writing community. The IWSG post on the first Wednesday of every month. This month’s co-hosts are:  Patricia Lynne, Lisa Buie-Collard, Kim Lajevardi, and Fundy Blue! Exciting News! Happy New Year, everyone! I’m starting off 2019 on a high after receiving some great news. My short story ‘Sea of Sorrows’ was selected to be part of the IWSG anthology Masquerade: Oddly Suited! I’m absolutely thrilled and so excited to see my work published (although I am slightly scared about the fact people will now read my work. Eek!) […]

Monthly Wrap-Up: January 2018

Monthly Wrap-Up: January 2018

Welcome to my monthly wrap-up post for January 2018, a time when I reflect on the month that has just passed, review what I’ve achieved and set my goals for next month.  January has been a busy month for me as I have made a lot of changes to the blog, including a name change, layout re-design and, of course, the switch to WordPress. I wanted to start the year as I meant to go on, dedicating much more time to the creative hobbies I enjoy. After a long time of feeling blocked, I’ve been inspired to start writing again and I […]

Yearly Wrap-Up 2017

Yearly Wrap-Up 2017

I can’t quite believe that we are already in 2018. Last year flew by for me, probably because I was very busy working, rebranding my business and taking care of my two-year-old. As a result, I didn’t have much time for reading or writing, so I’m afraid my poor blog was neglected. I plan to invest more time and energy in it this year as I do miss taking part in the blogging community and making time for myself to be creative.   Blogging and Reading Stats Books read: 11 (nowhere near my goal of 24 but at least an improvement on […]

My Top Ten Moments of 2017

My Top Ten Moments of 2017

I always love looking back on the year that’s gone and reflecting on all the positive things that have happened. 2017 wasn’t my best from a creative point of view, but I had some fantastic times with family and friends and those are the things that matter most to me. Time spent with loved ones is never wasted! Here are ten of my favourite moments from 2017: 1) Our holiday to Devon Our first holiday with just me, my husband and our little girl. We stayed in a great hotel with indoor and outdoor pools and had lots of fun […]

Yearly Wrap-Up 2015

It’s that time of year again when I take time out to reflect on the best and worst of 2015. It’s been an amazing year for me, the highlight being the arrival of my little girl, Leona May. Check out the 2015 End of the Year Book Survey to find out all about my favourite books from last year and have a look at my 2016 Reading List and Challenges to see what I’m planning to read in the year to come. Blogging and Reading Stats Books read: 9 Books reviewed: 6: Ignite the Shadows,  Lost and Found,  Never Sleep, The Body […]
