Now that the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness is upon us, you may be feeling a bit down. The summer sun has vanished, to be replaced by torrential rain and chilly winds. The trees and plants that were recently blossoming and blooming are starting to look brown, bare and shrivelled and your shorts, flipflops and bikinis have been confined to the back of the wardrobe. Oh and your stuck in work or school again too! Now it’s just downhill from here until next spring isn’t it? Not at all! Although you may have found summer fun and inspiring, there’s […]
I’m really chuffed because one of my poems, ‘Tess and the Priceless Treasure‘ has been selected to be published in an anthology called Poetry Rivals 2010: A New Dawn Breaks. This is the first time my work will be published on paper (as opposed to on websites) so I’m really excited as you can imagine. The anthology will be released in paperback form on 30th Oct 2010 (RRP £19.99). You can preorder it from Amazon here.
Writer’s block can come on because of stress, outside distractions or a fear of failure, but sometimes it strikes for no obvious reason and always seems to be at the worst possible time. Creative Projects Inspired by the Beach Paint a picture of the beach and mix some sand in with your paint to create a realistic, grainy texture. Paint pictures onto pebbles and then glaze them with varnish […]

There are many flowers you can buy With vibrant hues that catch the eye But the most alluring flower in sight Is the rose with petals black as night. While other roses hide their thorns, ‘Beware my deadly spikes’ she warns. She needs no flash display of colour To enchant all that gaze upon her. Many adore the crimson rose, Her striking beauty, classic pose, But I prefer the bewitching aroma, Of modesty and gothic glamour. There is more to her on closer inspection, Mystery shrouds her dark complexion Her secret spell is an ancient art, Her […]
