This month I’ve been thinking about the ways the beach can inspire us. It can be a great place to go to clear your mind as you listen to the sound of the waves, and the beautiful scenery can give you ideas for art projects. As well as that, the beach is full of natural resources that you can use in your art. Creative Projects Inspired by the Beach Paint a picture of the beach and mix some sand in with your paint to create a realistic, grainy texture. This is a piece of digital artwork I made using Photoshop in August 2010. The following stock resources were used: Sky Sorceress by Ailinstock Fantasy castle by nixie04 Gateway by Custard-Cream I just basically blended them together using different filter effects, changed some colours and added the shiny orbs. It’s one of my favourite pieces.

There are many flowers you can buy With vibrant hues that catch the eye But the most alluring flower in sight Is the rose with petals black as night. While other roses hide their thorns, ‘Beware my deadly spikes’ she warns. She needs no flash display of colour To enchant all that gaze upon her. There is more to her on closer inspection, Mystery shrouds her dark complexion Her secret spell is an ancient art, Her […]

Some were pearl (so overrated), Others gold (most likely plated). Nothing special caught her eye, So with a shrug, she passed on by. Returning on […]
The leafy canopy gleams with dew, As shafts of sunlight filter through, Ancient oak entwined with new, Lost in a springtime sea of blue. ~A V Brown, March 2010

The story is set several years after the battle of Hogwarts and is all about George Weasley’s new family. I hope you enjoy it. “Don’t look so nervous,” Fred laughed, seeing that my […]
