The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer.

It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog. This is your news post, so personalize it! Include as much as you want or as little. Be creative, it can be a vlog or just a showcase of your goodies. Link up once a week or once a month, you decide. Book haul can include library books, yard sale finds, arcs and bought books..share them!

This week in my life

I’m still busy at work but we are starting to approach the end of the exams season-I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! After exams finish there will be lots of work to do with reports and preparing for the next academic year, but I won’t have to split my focus so much and there will be less rushing around.

On Thursday night, I judged our local talent competition, which was organised by my mum-in-law’s dance school. As usual, it was lots of fun and I was really impressed by the high standard of the dancing and singing acts.

My daughter was ill at the beginning of the week so we had to rearrange a few plans, but she’s back to normal now. She’s been very cheeky and funny this week and her language seems to be developing so quickly. She worked out how to open all the baby locks we have everywhere, so now she’s getting into the cupboards and fridge and helping herself to food. Yesterday, she wanted to help me with the chores so she stood on a stool and ‘helped’ with the washing up and loaded the washing machine for me. I can’t believe how grown up she is getting!

Today, we’re going out for a meal to celebrate Father’s Day. I hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

This week on the blog

I didn’t do much blogging at all this week, I just felt too tired. I’m struggling to find a good balance between the different roles in my life at the moment-any tips would be greatly appreciated!

What I’m reading

I’m listening to the audiobook of Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi and it’s amazing! I’m eager to find out what happens, but at the same time, I don’t want it to end. I’ve also started reading Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth, which is really good so far.

  1. I’m glad your daughter is feeling better! The talent competition sounds fun; glad you had a good time judging. 🙂 Finding a good balance between all the roles we play can be tough. I really want to get better at blogging ahead – I’ll be doing the Mini Blog Ahead too.

    • Yeah, having a week or two scheduled in advance would make things a whole lot smoother. I just feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day at the moment. Hopefully, I will get a chance to catch up with everything over the summer.

  2. Aw glad she’s feeling better. Amazing how fast they can learn to unlock those baby locks. lol Glad yall had a mostly good week 🙂 I hear ya on the tired. I really do.

    • As soon as we think we’ve got this parenting thing handled she changes again and we have to up our game! Sorry you’ve been feeling tired too. Thank goodness for coffee.

    • It was great thanks. I am always a bit sceptical about books that other people rave about but this is honestly blowing me away! And I’m so happy I got the audiobook version. The narrator’s voice is so beautiful, I could listen to her read the phone book. Hope you have a great week too!
