This week in my life
I was back to work this week and I found really hard to adjust to the early mornings and the lack of time with my family again. Things didn’t go great at work, I had a lot to plan at home and several late nights, so I spent most of the week feeling stressed, rushed and exhausted.
This weekend has cheered me up as I had some much-needed downtime and spent a lot of time reading and playing puzzles with my two-year-old. We had a lovely day out at a garden centre today. I still feel like I haven’t caught up with all my lost sleep though, so I need to get lots of early nights this week (which I hate as I’m a night owl). Still, the summer holidays are creeping closer and closer and that makes me feel better.
This week on the blog
Well, I’ve fallen a little behind with replying to comments again, but please know that I’ve read them all and will respond when I can. I am pleased that I managed to write two book reviews this weekend, which is virtually unheard of.
- Top Ten Tuesday: Reasons I DNF (did not finish)
- IWSG June 2018: What’s in a Name?
- Book Review: Sever by Lauren DeStefano
- Book Review: Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
Next week’s line-up
- Tuesday-Top Ten Tuesday
- Wednesday-Insecure Writers Support Group
- Saturday-On my Wishlist
- Sunday-The Sunday Post
What I’m reading
Just finished Ready Player One this morning and I loved it! You can check out my review here. I think I will be starting Carve the Mark next. I’ve also just signed up for a free trial of Audible as I thought I could cram more reading into ‘unproductive times’, like when I’m doing my makeup or eating breakfast.
This ebook was free and I don’t know much about it but it looks good:
I also downloaded these audiobooks:
Links I’m loving
- Nerd Church: What’s the Purpose of Purpose?
- Book Nerd Problems: Protecting Your Signed Copy
- My Favourite YA One Hit Wonders
- Transatlantic Cruise: Paris
- Let’s Discuss: How do you deal with stress?
