It’s time for Harry Potter Moment of the Week, hosted by Leah of Uncorked Thoughts and Micheline of Lunar Rainbows Reviews. The idea is to get Harry Potter fans together and discuss our favourite things about the series; be it a favourite moment, character, magical item, spell, quote or object from the books, films or J.K Rowling herself.

You can find the list of future topics here. If you’d like to take part, visit today’s post and sign up with the linky.

Today’s topic: Which one of the 6 trials the trio faced in Philosopher’s Stone would have been your downfall?

This is an interesting question as all six trials involve different skills and challenges. First there’s Hagrid’s three-headed dog Fluffy. I could get pass him fairly easily by lulling him to sleep with music as the trio do. Then there’s Professor Sprout’s web of devil’s snare. I think like Hermione I would have read up on all my magical plants and spells so I’d probably get out of that one okay.

Then there are Professor Flitwick’s flying keys. That might be a bit of a challenge for me if my flying skills are anything like my sports skills. But maybe I could work out which key was the most logical choice and keep aiming for that. I’d get it eventually, I think. Next there’s McGonagall’s wizard chess. This would definitely be difficult but I’m quite good at normal chess so I might be able to figure that one out.

Then there’s Quirrell’s mountain troll. I think this would probably be my downfall as I’m quite lacking in the brawn department so it would probably overpower me easily.

If I got past the troll somehow I think I could manage Snape’s potion task as I’m not bad at riddles and could probably work it out if I thought about it carefully. So my final answer is Quirrell’s mountain troll. I don’t think I’m strong enough or brave enough to defeat one!

Which challenge would be your downfall?
