It’s been more than two weeks since I returned from my holiday in Paris and I’ve finally gotten around to posting. In my defence, I’ve been super busy with my work and social life. I recently took on more hours at work so I have a little less time in the evenings for blogging and my weekends have been filled with entertaining friends and attending birthday parties and weddings.
I’ve been finding a little time to read before bed, and have finished reading The Hunger Games trilogy and Divergent by Veronica Roth, both of which I really enjoyed. I will be posting reviews for them as soon as I can, so stay tuned. Today is the release day for Insurgent, Divergent’s sequel, so be sure to check out the facebook page and Veronica Roth’s blog, and follow #insurgentday on twitter for the latest news.
My holiday in Paris was amazing. We visited the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame cathedral, which was absoloutely stunning, and took a night-time boat ride down the Seine to see all the beautiful buildings illuminated. We did a lot of walking, shopping and sight-seeing and ate a lot of waffles and crepes. Then we spent a couple of days at Disneyland, enjoying the rides, shows and parades and eating at Planet Hollywood (best veggie burger of my life). The best bit was watching the fireworks at night with the castle all lit up and animation projected onto it in time with music. It was really magical.
I also have big news: I got engaged! Yep, my partner finally popped the question in Disneyland, dressed as Mickey Mouse! It was certainly a very original proposal and suited us down to a tee. He got down on one knee to give me a soppy speech and presented me with a beautiful Tanzanite ring. We’re both really happy and eager to start planning our wedding for either next year or the year after (as soon as we can afford/manage to book really). I’m planning on making a lot of things for the wedding with the help of my friend Naomi, author of Cornet Crafts. She is my oldest friend and a genius at sewing, baking and other crafty activities. So you can expect lots of posts from us both about homemade wedding favours, corsages, table decorations and the like.
I’ve missed the blogging world lately. How are all my fellow bloggers and what have you been up to?
