How to Make Soap Cupcakes

How to Make Soap Cupcakes

Soap making is one of my favourite hobbies, and recently I decided to mix things up by creating some soap cupcakes for my friend’s birthday. I made them mostly using ingredients from my kitchen cupboard with a few cosmetic ingredients like melt and pour soap base, cosmetic colourants and fragrances. Some great websites for buying soap making supplies are: Just a SoapOils 4 LifeSoap BasicsPerfumer’s ApprenticeNature’s Garden CandlesBramble BerrySculptures in SoapFlexible Molds Ingredients and Equipment Melt and pour soap base, grated (opaque looks best) Food colouring or cosmetic colourants (yellow/brown for the base and pink or white for the frosting). The following stock resources were used: Sky Sorceress by AilinstockFantasy castle by nixie04Gateway by Custard-Cream I just basically blended them together using different filter effects, changed some colours and added the shiny orbs. Black Rose Poem

Black Rose Poem

[source] Here’s a little poem I wrote for my Mum for Mother’s Day, because she has a real love of black roses. There are many flowers that you can buy With vibrant colours that catch the eye But the most alluring flower in sight Is the rose with petals black as night. She bewitches all with her dark aroma, Her modest hue speaks of gothic glamour. But whilst other roses disguise their thorns, ‘Beware my deadly spikes’ she warns. Many have eyes for the crimson rose, She cries ‘look at me!’ with a boastful pose, But the black rose needs […]

Tess and the Priceless Treasure Poem

Tess and the Priceless Treasure Poem

One morning, Tess from Little Dell Was washing clothes beside the well, When Anne and Jane and Cecily Ran towards her full of glee. Look upon our golden rings! See our shiny, handsome things. The market stalls are filled with gold, Hurry, before the rest is sold! Tess, excited, ran on down, To see the fair from out of town. Travelers advertised their wares- Their shining, sparkling traps and snares. Some were pearl (so overrated), Others gold (most likely plated). Yet they did not catch her eye, So with a shrug she passed on by. Later that day upon the […]

Bluebell Wood Poem

Love Lessons Poem

Love Lessons Poem

There you stand, eyes twinkling in the sunshine, That reassuring smile lighting up your face, Totally oblivious to what you do to me. You’re conversing eloquently as usual, But I catch only a word or two- The aroma of black coffee and fusty books Opening doors in my imagination. I watch as the others pass with solemn faces, Knowing that I see in you what they never can: The heart of an explorer and the soul of a poet. There’s an endearing eccentricity about you, From your quintessential dress Right down to the simple crispness of your name, Which sounds […]

Writing Therapy Poem

Writing Therapy Poem

I write when the dark veil obscures my sight, I write when I lie awake at night, When a heavy guilt burdens my soul- I write in the hope it will make me whole. I write when I doubt what I really desire, I write when anger engulfs me like fire, When nothing at all seems to matter to me, I write ’cause I can’t afford therapy. ~Written 28/02/10
