Monthly Wrap-Up: March 2018

Posted 10th April 2018 by Tizzy Brown in Blog Fests & Hops, Blog Updates / 🗨3 Comments

This post is going up nearly a week later than planned, but oh well! I hope you all had a happy Easter? My little one had chicken pox so our plans for a reunion meal with extended family had to be cancelled, but we still had a nice time visiting the in-laws.

I’m currently on holiday from work and I’m enjoying relaxing and spending quality time with my family. Work has been pretty stressful lately and I also had lots on socially in March, including several family birthdays, mothers day and a hen party. April promises to be even more exciting, with my Dad’s wedding next weekend, a couple of parties and a trip to Centerparcs. I’m really excited and hoping to see some lovely springtime weather soon too!

Last month I was busy with Bloggiesta and preparing for the A-Z Challenge. I made a few changes to the blog design and structure and joined in with several hops.

Tv & Film

Films watched: The Hobbit trilogy

Spring 2018 #Bloggiesta Wrap-Up

Last week’s Bloggiesta ended way too soon! I didn’t get everything on my to-do list done, but I did achieve a lot more than I would have done without Bloggiesta. Considering how busy I was, I’m pleased with what I did accomplish. You can read Bloggiesta wrap-up posts from other participants here.   Here’s a break down of all my updates to the blog last week.   Tasks I achieved (or partly achieved)   Visit and Comment on Other Participants’ Blogs This is actually still ongoing, but I promise I will get to everyone on the list and reply to […]

Labels, Categories, and Tags, Oh My! Spring #bloggiesta Mini-Challenge

It’s the 6th day of the Bloggiesta and I’m only just checking in with an update but I’ve been so busy behind the scenes! I decided to take part in the ‘Labels, Categories and Tags, Oh My!’ mini challenge hosted by Berls @ Because Reading. Here is a brief description of the challenge:  For this Bloggiesta mini-challenge you will pick one set of labels, categories, or tags and organize them! Take a screenshot if you like or simply describe what you did somewhere – share a link on twitter (tag it with #bloggiesta), in our Facebook group, or even Instagram.   […]

Celebrating my 9th ‘Blogversary’!

Celebrating my 9th ‘Blogversary’!

Yes, it’s hard to believe, but as of today, I have officially been blogging for a whole nine years! I’ve come a long way since I wrote my very first post, that’s for sure. I was just a young whippersnapper back then and I had no clue what I was doing, but I was very enthusiastic. I set up a basic Blogger blog called ‘Creative Therapy’ and started rambling away about books, art and writing. I knew next to nothing about running a blog when I started, but I’ve learnt so much through the years. Blogging has pushed me to […]

My To Do List for the Spring 2018 #Bloggiesta

My To Do List for the Spring 2018 #Bloggiesta

It’s nearly Bloggiesta time again! I love these things. The Spring 2018 Bloggiesta is a week-long event taking place from 19th to 25th March. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s a blogfest designed to help you improve your blog and tackle the things you normally put off or don’t have time for (admin, SEO, design issues, etc.) If you’d like to take part, simply post your ‘to do’ list and link it up. If you need ideas and inspiration on tasks for your list, you can find them here. This time around there will be discussions on Facebook and Twitter throughout the […]

Monthly Wrap-Up: February 2018

Monthly Wrap-Up: February 2018

Welcome to my monthly wrap-up post for February, a time when I reflect on the month that has just passed, review what I’ve achieved and set my goals for next month.  February flew by as usual and I feel like I achieved next to nothing!. I had one week off work and I had great plans to fill it with lots of blogging, reading, writing, quality time with my husband and fun family activities. Unfortunately, my little girl was ill and very miserable all week so all of our plans went out of the window and although I enjoyed all our cuddles […]

Monthly Wrap-Up: January 2018

Monthly Wrap-Up: January 2018

Welcome to my monthly wrap-up post for January 2018, a time when I reflect on the month that has just passed, review what I’ve achieved and set my goals for next month.  January has been a busy month for me as I have made a lot of changes to the blog, including a name change, layout re-design and, of course, the switch to WordPress. I wanted to start the year as I meant to go on, dedicating much more time to the creative hobbies I enjoy. After a long time of feeling blocked, I’ve been inspired to start writing again and I […]

Hello, WordPress! We’ve had a move and a makeover

Hello, WordPress! We’ve had a move and a makeover

Welcome to the newly revamped blog, Dusting the Soul (formerly Creative Therapy). I’d been wanting to move over to WordPress for some time but it took quite a lot of planning to make sure all my old posts and comments could be imported. After a lot of hard work, I finally made it and I think it was well worth it. There are a lot of changes which I’ve outlined below, but please rest assured that the content of the blog will remain the same. I’ll still be blogging about all things related to books, creative writing and art. So, What’s […]

Yearly Wrap-Up 2017

Yearly Wrap-Up 2017

I can’t quite believe that we are already in 2018. Last year flew by for me, probably because I was very busy working, rebranding my business and taking care of my two-year-old. As a result, I didn’t have much time for reading or writing, so I’m afraid my poor blog was neglected. I plan to invest more time and energy in it this year as I do miss taking part in the blogging community and making time for myself to be creative.   Blogging and Reading Stats Books read: 11 (nowhere near my goal of 24 but at least an improvement on […]
